Welcome
Welcome to The JamHouse Forum.

Hi, I'm Tony Avery, founder of The JamHouse. The JamHouse is a free jam club whereby musicians and vocalists actually gather to jam and perform with one another in a friendly, easy going, non competitive, and fun atmosphere. The motto of The JamHouse is: Musicians Honoring Musicians. And it is within this spirit that we meet, play music, and socialize with one another.

The JamHouse Forum is an extension of The JamHouse and is used by The JamHouse members and guests to better know one another. The forum can also help in scheduling jams, rehearsals, gigs, parties, cookouts, and other events within our membership.

The JamHouse provides a place where member musicians and vocalists can come to enjoy socializing with one another and to jam, form bands, rehearse, collaborate, and to have a great time playing the music they love. The JamHouse opened on Dec. 8th, 2007 with 23 members in attendance and has been going strong ever since. While originally our jams were held on private property and open to a limited number of members per jam our member base has grown to the point where we now meet at local venues around Raleigh where our numbers can be better accommodated. Venues such as Fat Daddy's, Reds, Tailgaters, and most recently The Pickled Onion and Bone Daddy's Hideaway.

By joining this free forum and music community, you will be able to read and post topics, you'll be able to communicate privately with other members (PM), respond to polls, upload content, and access many other special features such as email, right from our forum. Registration is fast, simple, and absolutely free, so please, join our music community today!

JamHouse members receive notices and email invitations to jam. When you receive an invitation it is important that you RSVP your intentions to attend, or not, for any particular jam. Another musician can be invited in your place if you cannot be here. Space is limited, even at venues around town, and we wish not to "over invite" and become over crowded. Overcrowding results in less quility playing time for all.

As a forum member you are encouraged to submit a member bio, song list, and any other info that will help members to better know one another. Of course attending our jams is a fast and fun way to meet other members.

Thanks for visiting The JamHouse Forum. Please consider joining our jam club and register. You will then be ready to start attending our jams and other events. Please call on me if I can be of any assistance to you.

Let's do something different. I believe a theme jam of some kind would be fun. If you have any ideas or comments to share please post them here. You can "postreply" to this subject or start a new discussion by clicking on "newtopic".

Thanks.

I like the idea of a Beatles tribute. Tony, we met Sat. the 17th at Bonedaddy's, I was sitting -in with The Blenders. My regular jam-group covers many Beatles tunes with close attention to vocals and other details and we would love to take part in the event you are planning. ScottyBoy

Hi Scott. Yes, I remember you. Purple told me tonight at my jam at BoneDaddy's that you had joined my forum. Thanks so much for joining. I came home from my jam and looked for you here and sure enough, there you were.

I so glad you like my idea of a Tribute to John Lennon & The Beatles. I'd love to have you and your jam group to participate. I'll be putting more info out as the plans develop. The only thing to get worked out is which night will be the Tribute, Dec. 5 or 12.

I'm hoping to get more input from those interested as to which Saturday night works out best for the most folks. So, more to come. Keep checking the forum and also free free to call me any time.

Thanks again Scott.

I like a themed night. I think it would be a great idea, not only for the Jamhouse, but also to bring more people out that don't know about it. The Beatles idea is amazing, so many people love their music that with the right advertising it should be a HUGE night! I wouldn't mind seeing a jam band type theme. Grateful Dead, Phish, Allmans and even reggae. I think there is a largely untapped scene for that music in the area and it could also bring a huge crowd with the right advertising.

Thanks avantguitar. I agree with you. I have advertized for folks interesterd in themed jams before. John Lennon & The Beatles tribute will be the first one. I have other ideas you may like too. I also like you ideas. We should talk. Feel free to call me or send me your number and a good time to call you.
