Welcome
Welcome to The JamHouse Forum.

Hi, I'm Tony Avery, founder of The JamHouse. The JamHouse is a free jam club whereby musicians and vocalists actually gather to jam and perform with one another in a friendly, easy going, non competitive, and fun atmosphere. The motto of The JamHouse is: Musicians Honoring Musicians. And it is within this spirit that we meet, play music, and socialize with one another.

The JamHouse Forum is an extension of The JamHouse and is used by The JamHouse members and guests to better know one another. The forum can also help in scheduling jams, rehearsals, gigs, parties, cookouts, and other events within our membership.

The JamHouse provides a place where member musicians and vocalists can come to enjoy socializing with one another and to jam, form bands, rehearse, collaborate, and to have a great time playing the music they love. The JamHouse opened on Dec. 8th, 2007 with 23 members in attendance and has been going strong ever since. While originally our jams were held on private property and open to a limited number of members per jam our member base has grown to the point where we now meet at local venues around Raleigh where our numbers can be better accommodated. Venues such as Fat Daddy's, Reds, Tailgaters, and most recently The Pickled Onion and Bone Daddy's Hideaway.

By joining this free forum and music community, you will be able to read and post topics, you'll be able to communicate privately with other members (PM), respond to polls, upload content, and access many other special features such as email, right from our forum. Registration is fast, simple, and absolutely free, so please, join our music community today!

JamHouse members receive notices and email invitations to jam. When you receive an invitation it is important that you RSVP your intentions to attend, or not, for any particular jam. Another musician can be invited in your place if you cannot be here. Space is limited, even at venues around town, and we wish not to "over invite" and become over crowded. Overcrowding results in less quility playing time for all.

As a forum member you are encouraged to submit a member bio, song list, and any other info that will help members to better know one another. Of course attending our jams is a fast and fun way to meet other members.

Thanks for visiting The JamHouse Forum. Please consider joining our jam club and register. You will then be ready to start attending our jams and other events. Please call on me if I can be of any assistance to you.

Our thanks goes to our featured band "20 Years Gone". Jenny, Lloyd, Scott, and Ken gave us a great show this past Saturday night, Oct. 3rd. 20YG had a fantastic following in the house and a lot of fun was had by us all. I'm hoping to add 20YG to one of our jams and shows coming up at BoneDaddy's soon.

If any of our JamHouse members want to jam with us at BoneDaddy's this Friday, Oct. 9, or at The Pickled Onion this Saturday, Oct. 10, an RSVP will ensure you plenty of playing time as our line ups can be worked out. The JamHouse was also "On The Road" Aug. 29 and Sept. 5th at The Pickled Onion. See our photoshow of our jam at http://www.photoshow.com/watch/XR8pj6uz.

The Pickled Onion, located at 7901 Falls of Neuse Road, is a very nice venue with great food and drinks. TPO's physical layout includes a huge bar that will easily seat 20 patrons. There are also booths and tables for another 50 or so. My thanks to the Pickled Onion for inviting The JamHouse into their very nice venue. The management and staff make us feel right at home. Service at TPO is fantastic, friendly, focused on every detail. The food and drink is excellant and comes out guickly. I give The Pickled Onion Five Stars! ***Tony ***

BoneDaddy's Hideaway is located at 605 Creekside Drive here in Raleigh. This is just across the street from where the old Long Branch was located. BDH is a private club that offers a fantastic staff, friendly regulars, and a multitude of great bands, jams, and special guests. A small cover charge is usually asked of non member guests. Free hot foods are also offered on most evenings and you can also order food from the nearby Ale House who will deliver to BoneDaddy's.

Hey Tony,

Please know that Jan and I had a great time at the Pickled Onion last night. Thanks for having us, and also thanks for sponsoring this jam. It was one of the best. I believe a good time was had by all. Also thanks to you and all the other TJH members for the anniversary card. That was a real surpise. Let's not forget you and Patricia also had an anniversary, so let me say it again, Happy Anniversary!

I had a great time running sound and playing at The Pickled Onion last Saturday night. I want to apologize to all the players and singers who had trouble hearing themselves in the monitors. I didn't have the proper cables to run a separate monitor mix so the sound you were trying to hear from the speakers on the side was from the main mix. Turning the volume up on these speakers would have resulted in a lot of feedback. There was way too much PA for that small a room but I wanted to give the (new to me) SoundCraft board a try and thanks to Tony and TPO, I got to do just that. There is still much I have to learn about sound equipment and using it properly. Thanks to all the musicians for your patience, and thanks to Tony Avery for his tireless efforts in promoting the local music scene.

It was inspiring to see so many people show up to see some local music last night, I think this Pickled Onion Jam has a bright future. Seeing people receptive to some original music was also encouraging (3 Christs), not knocking covers but I feel as though everyone enjoys the occasional change of scenery so to speak. Tanks Tony for putting on a good time. Oh and this is a cool guitar piece check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VAkOhXIsI0
